veggie pate sandwich

Veggie paté was a huge part of my Québecois childhood and for some reason no one seems to know what it is in the U.S. It’s usually made with a combination of vegetables like potato, carrot and onion, along with some nuts and seeds. It also has a really rich and hearty flavor from soy sauce and nutritional yeast. Super healthy but most importantly, super delicious.

lobster spaghetti + romano beans and eggplant with mustard, sherry vinegar and almonds

I’m leaving Topanga tomorrow so I made Joe Beef’s lobster spaghetti for my mom tonight. I changed the recipe a bit by adding some celery and a bay leaf to the lobster sauce and finishing it with lemon juice and extra parsley.

Killing the lobster was kind of intense but I’d definitely do it again.
